I was fortunate enough to become friends with Chuck about 20 years ago when I was in the market for a "tax man". Little did I know at the time that not only was he great at doing taxes, but he was also great at officiating weddings.
When I mentioned that I was planning a wedding, he told that he could officiate the ceremony. At first I thought he was joking with that straight face that only he could pull off. Of course I agreed. Like most things in his life, he set to it with a passion. He met with my fiancé and I to get to know our chemistry and how we met. From that meeting, he developed a personalized ceremony that we will both cherish for the rest of our lives.
Chuck also had the ability to make tax season bearable. I would actually look forward sitting in his comfortable office and picking through his candy dish, looking for my favorites, while he asked just the right questions to get me the best possible refund. Not only that, but I would get sent home with a box of Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies.
Our condolences go out to Betzi, Emily and Lyn who were fortunate enough to have known Chuck longer and better than most. Our heartfelt prayers and wishes will be with you in the coming days, weeks, and months.
Respectfully,
Sam and Kirsten Goodspeed
